Curriculum del Prof. Stefano F. Cappa

Stefano F. Cappa e' laureato in Medicina e specializzato in Neurologia presso l' Universita' degli Studi di Milano. Ha svolto attività clinica e di ricerca presso la Clinica Neurologica dell’Università di Milano e la Divisione Neurologica dell'Ospedale Niguarda a Milano, ed ha trascorso periodi di studio e di ricerca presso varie istituzioni straniere, quali l'Università di Boston, il Massachusetts Institute of Technology, il Medical Research Council Cyclotron Unit dell'Hammersmith Hospital di Londra, e il Max Planck Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience di Leipzig. Dal 1988 al 1999 ha operato presso la Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia dell'Università degli Studi di Brescia, prima come ricercatore e dal 1994 come professore associato di Neurologia e responsabile del laboratorio di neuropsicologia clinica. Dal novembre 1999 è professore ordinario di Neuropsicologia presso l’Università Vita-Salute S. Raffaele di Milano, ove è anche Direttore della Divisione Neurologica del San Raffaele Turro.

L' attività di ricerca del prof. Cappa si svolge nel campo delle neuroscienze cognitive, e riguarda in particolare le basi neurologiche del linguaggio e delle funzioni cognitive di alto livello (ragionamento e decisione), indagate mediante multiple metodologie (neuropsicologia clinica, neuroimaging, neurofisiologia). L’attività di ricerca clinica riguarda in particolare le demenze e la riabilitazione dei deficit cognitivi.
